Accounting major and Accounting (Extended) major graduates will meet the educational entrance requirements of CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). This provides Associate membership of CPA Australia, eligibility to study the CPA Australia professional exams and eligibility to study the CAANZ professional exams.

The Accounting major and Accounting (Extended) major are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of International Accountants (AIA).

Successful completion of the Accounting major and Accounting (Extended) major can qualify students for exemptions from the Fundamental level (9 papers) of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) exams.

Accounting major and Accounting (Extended) major students who complete a Finance minor will meet the educational entrance requirements of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia).

Finance major graduates will meet the educational entrance requirements to become a member of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia).

The Human Resource Management major is accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) and satisfies the educational requirements for professional membership of AHRI.

The Information Technology Management major is provisionally accredited at professional level by the Australian Computer Society and, through the Seoul Accord, is recognised in other countries.

The Marketing major is accredited by the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) and students are eligible for credit towards becoming a Certified Practicing Marketer (CPM) upon completion.

Professional accreditation
The Bachelor of Information Technology is accredited at professional level by the Australian Computer Society and, through the Seoul Accord, is recognised in other countries.

USQ is currently seeking accreditation with the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

With the explosion of data, data analytics professionals are in high demand. Graduates will be well positioned to work as a data analyst, data scientist or data statistician in almost all job sectors including IT, public relations, retail, advertising and banking.

With a combination of theory and clinical simulation in our well-resourced labs and nursing wards, USQ’s Bachelor of Nursing prepares you for practice as a registered nurse, in hospitals, community settings, mental health settings, GP practices, clinics, rural and remote health services and aged care facilities across Australia and the world.

The program aligns with current Australian professional nursing standards of practice and will give you the skills to deliver high-quality nursing care to people of all ages.

Almost 50 percent of the program is devoted to clinical practice within simulated on-campus labs or in health care settings, including large metropolitan hospitals, mental health services, regional health care services, aged care settings, community health services, specialty clinics and rehabilitation centres.

Professional accreditation
The Bachelor of Nursing at USQ is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and is listed as an approved program with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Do you have a love for sports and fitness? Do you have a passion for the physical health of people? Our Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science degree could be for you.

Become prepared to help others by designing and implementing exercise programs to promote wellness across the whole lifespan, including the elderly, pregnant women and children. The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science is currently seeking accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) at the level of Exercise Science (ES).

Become an accountant and gain a competitive edge in business
The Master of Business Administration and Master of Professional Accounting double degree provides you with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills required for professional accounting, while also developing an understanding of the broader management context, better preparing you for senior management roles.

You will receive a separate testamur (official certificate) for each degree and will be able to complete the double degree in less time than if you chose to study the two degrees separately.

Professional accreditation

The program satisfies the educational entrance requirements of both CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). This provides associate membership of CPA Australia, eligibility to study the CPA professional exams and eligibility to study the CAANZ professional exams.

If you are already a graduate in accounting from an overseas university, we recommend that you obtain a qualification assessment from CPA Australia before applying to us. It is possible that you may only be required to complete fewer courses to achieve associate membership. These can be studied through a Graduate Certificate in Business. If you are an overseas candidate seeking membership of your home country accounting body, full members of CPA Australia and/or CAANZ are usually offered reciprocal membership. This is a fast-track to become a qualified accountant in your home country.

Enhance your computing skills
If you have graduated in a different area and want to move into IT or have already studied a computing degree and want to enhance your professional skills, then this is the degree for you. The Master of Computing Technology is designed to add to your current knowledge and skills and relate to the needs of your profession or industry.

Further study
After successful completion of the Master of Computing Technology, with the Advanced Research specialisation, you may be eligible to apply for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) if you have achieved an overall GPA of 5.5 or higher.

Data Science helps organisations to extract new insights from raw data; insights which inform the development of new products, improved services and new businesses in our increasingly data reliant world.

Work independently and collaboratively to apply key ICT and data science technologies and programming skills to interpret major theories and critically investigate and solve contemporary core issues in a global market.

You will have the opportunity to decide between two different pathways of research in your masters degree:

  • Research Project track — this pathway equips you with research skills and enables you to develop a research thesis in applied data science through an independent project in your chosen disciplinary application area.

Destination Australia Scholarships

USQ has partnered with the Australian Government to offer a limited number of Destination Australia scholarships to international students. We are committed to supporting students and providing opportunities to study in one of Australia’s most liveable cities – Toowoomba.

This AUD30000 scholarship is available for Semester 2, 2020 to cover a two-year study period.

Applicants must:
• be an international on-campus student*
• apply for admission to USQ prior to the scholarship closing date
• be a commencing student (i.e. be new to USQ) in Semester 2, 2020
• be enrolled in an award program for two years duration
• have a sound level of academic achievement
• be enrolled in a minimum of four (4) study units for each Semester 1 and 2 for the duration of the scholarship
• be studying on-campus at USQ Toowoomba*

*Due to the current COVID-19 travel restrictions, applicants are eligible to study online for up to one semester.

2020 International Student Scholarship

In Semester 2 and Semester 3 2020, the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) will offer scholarships to new international students intending to study on-campus after Australian Government travel restrictions are lifted.  Students who wish to commence their studies in the online mode prior to attending campus will need to apply for the on-campus offering and be accepted through the USQ admissions processes.

This scholarship is based on meeting the entry requirements for the program of study and successfully passing all courses within the program.

2020 International Student Support Scholarship

  • 25% tuition fee scholarship (excluding Bachelor of Nursing)
  • 10% tuition fee scholarship for Bachelor of Nursing

2020 International Accommodation Scholarship
